Snow melts, so we hike

THERE’S a patch of old snow in a corner
  That I should have guessed
Was a blow-away paper the rain
  Had brought to rest.

It is speckled with grime as if
  Small print overspread it,
The news of a day I’ve forgotten—
  If I ever read it.
(Robert Frost, A Patch of Old Snow, 1920)

Hiking in Chautauqua Park near Bolder

As the snow gives way to the longer days of spring, so we pick up the trails where we left them.

On this early May hike, we embarked on the Chicago Lakes trail in the Mount Evans Wilderness Area.
